The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact globally, particularly in high-risk populations such as those with underlying health conditions. In response to the evolving pandemic landscape and the recent surge in confirmed cases in Taiwan, the Taiwan Association of Family Medicine (TAFM) established a consensus on COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for vulnerable groups through a comprehensive literature review, expert panel discussions, and a practice-oriented formulation procedure to develop evidence-based guidance. Its key findings highlight the increased risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes among individuals with disorders such as diabetes, obesity, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory illness.

Background: Staphylococcal enterotoxin and fungal sensitization can influence asthma severity; however, the effects on the clinical outcomes of asthma remain unclear. This study investigated the clinical outcomes of asthma in patients with or without staphylococcal enterotoxin sensitization and further analyzed the effects of fungal sensitization on the clinical outcomes of patients with staphylococcal enterotoxin sensitization.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients with asthma who had undergone a staphylococcal enterotoxin-specific immunoglobulin E test at our hospital between January and August 2021.

The standard treatment guideline for stage IIIA/N2 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains controversial despite years of research, and the necessity of surgery is still debated. This study aims to explore optimal treatment and surgical methods for stage IIIA/N2 NSCLC patients.We obtained data from the Taiwan Cancer Registry (TCR) to compare the overall survival rates of different subgroups of stage IIIA/N2 NSCLC patients, as well as the overall survival rates of different treatment strategies and surgical methods.
