Objective: The objective is to explore the value of end-tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2) in replacing cardiac index for evaluating fluid responsiveness during the passive leg raising (PLR) test and mini-fluid challenge (mini-FC).

Methods: Patients experiencing septic shock and who were on mechanical ventilation in an intensive care unit were divided into responder and nonresponder groups according to whether their cardiac index increased by more than 10% after the FC. Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the clinical features and recurrence rates of sinonasal inverted papilloma (NIP), assessing factors contributing to recurrence and comparing surgical methods.
  • Among 156 patients, recurrence occurred in 19 cases, with some progressing to squamous cell carcinoma, showing a slight variation in recurrence rates among different surgical approaches but no significant statistical differences.
  • The results suggest that thorough initial surgical removal is crucial for reducing recurrence, while the Krouse classification stage and type of surgery were less influential on outcomes.
