Integration of Apolipoprotein B into the SCORE2 Framework: Implications for Cardiovascular Risk Prediction.

Aim: To evaluate whether integrating Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) into the SCORE2 cardiovascular risk prediction framework improves its predictive accuracy and clinical applicability within the UK Biobank population.

Method: A 10-year prospective cohort study was conducted with 448,303 UK Biobank participants eligible for SCORE2 calculation. Three approaches were employed: (1) threshold analysis to determine the optimal ApoB cutoff for cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk prediction using Youden's Index, (2) assessment of the synergistic effect of SCORE2 and ApoB through concordant and discordant classifications, and (3) recalibration of the SCORE2 model by incorporating ApoB as an additional predictor.

Emergency medicine pharmacists' interventions in the tertiary hospitals' emergency departments in Malaysia.

The presence of EM pharmacists in the ED has positively impacted patient outcomes. Data on EM pharmacists' interventions is scarce in the Asian region.

Formation of 1D "Perovskitoid" (API)PbBr Instead of Layered <110> Oriented 2D-Perovskite (API)PbBr Under Different Dissolution Temperatures.

The corrugated <110> oriented layered metal halide perovskites (MHP) are gaining increased attention for a variety of properties including intrinsic white light emission. One prototypical candidate is 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole lead bromide, which was reported to crystallize as the <110> oriented perovskite (API)PbBr [API = 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole]. This work shows that under similar reaction conditions, the same components can instead form (API)PbBr, which has a "perovskitoid" structure.

IAP dependency of T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia identified by high-throughput drug screening.

T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) is an aggressive lymphoid malignancy with limited treatment options. To discover new treatment targets for T-PLL, we performed high-throughput drug sensitivity screening on 30 primary patient samples ex-vivo. After screening over 2'800 unique compounds, we found T-PLL to be more resistant to most drug classes, including chemotherapeutics, compared to other blood cancers.
