This Letter presents a search for highly ionizing magnetic monopoles in 262  μb^{-1} of ultraperipheral Pb+Pb collision data at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.36  TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. A new methodology that exploits the properties of clusters of hits reconstructed in the innermost silicon detector layers is introduced to study highly ionizing particles in heavy-ion data.

Introduction: Racial differences in antitumoral immunity have been identified in a variety of cancers and may contribute to survival disparities, but limited data exist exploring the molecular differences in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Using racially diverse PDAC datasets, we explored biologic differences that may drive disparities between African American (AA) and European American (EA) PDAC patients.

Methods: Genomic PDAC mutational data was analyzed for mutational differences based on race.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are endogenous vesicles secreted by cells. Exosomes (30-150 nm), are a subset of EVs playing key roles in intercellular communication. Exosomes show promise as cancer chemotherapeutic drug delivery vehicles given their low immunogenicity and cell-specific cytosolic delivery of their contents.

Introduction: Opioids are used to treat pain in chronic pancreatitis (CP), but little is known about current use patterns. The aim of this study was to characterize the utilization of opioids and associations with clinical characteristics in adult patients with CP.

Methods: This cross-sectional analysis used baseline data from participants with definite CP enrolled in a cohort study in the United States (PROspective Evaluation of CP for EpidEmiologic and Translational StuDies).

Z boson events at the Large Hadron Collider can be selected with high purity and are sensitive to a diverse range of QCD phenomena. As a result, these events are often used to probe the nature of the strong force, improve Monte Carlo event generators, and search for deviations from standard model predictions. All previous measurements of Z boson production characterize the event properties using a small number of observables and present the results as differential cross sections in predetermined bins.
