Introduction: The mechanism of tannic acid (TA) intervention on methicillin-resistant (MRSA, USA 300) biofilm formation was explored using proteomics.

Methods: The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of TA against the MRSA standard strain USA 300 was determined by two-fold serial dilution of the microbroth. The effects of TA were studied using crystal violet staining.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and ischemic stroke are critical global health challenges with a notable association. This study explores the correlation between tumor-related factors and ischemic stroke risk, aiming to construct a predictive nomogram model for ischemic stroke in ccRCC patients. We retrospectively analyzed data from ccRCC patients who underwent nephrectomy at the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between January 1, 2013, and May 31, 2022.

Objective: To investigate the anti-liver cancer effect of 2-hydroxy-3-methyl anthraquinone (HMA) and the specific mechanism based on nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1)/cellular tumor antigen p53 (p53) pathway.

Methods: Cell counting kit-8 method was used to observe the effect of HMA on the activity of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HepG2) cells. At 72 h and 80 μL HMA, the apoptosis rate of HepG2 cells in each group was measured by flow cytometry.

This study aims to evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative serum cystatin C (Cys-C) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We analyzed clinicopathological data and follow-up information of 624 RCC patients who underwent partial or radical nephrectomy at our institution. The optimal cutoff value of Cys-C was determined using X-tile software.

Article Synopsis
  • * The research involved experiments on adult male rats, assessing bladder function and inflammation over time after injury, revealing that initial inflammatory changes precede noticeable bladder function decline.
  • * Key findings highlight that abnormal arachidonic acid metabolism is linked to bladder dysfunction post-TSCI, with significant changes occurring around three days after injury, which is crucial for understanding recovery timelines.
