This study aimed to identify novel α-amylase inhibitory peptides from Russian sea cucumbers and elucidate their inhibitory mechanisms. Among the 52 identified sea cucumber peptide (SCP), two peptides with potential α-amylase inhibitory activity, FPSPPLVA (SCP1) and GPPMPPPPLP (SCP2), were selected from the sequences researched. The results showed that both SCP1 and SCP2 exhibited α-amylase inhibitory activity with IC of 0.

Retinal damage accounts for irreversible vision loss following ocular alkali burn (OAB), but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unexplored. Herein, using an OAB mouse model, we examined the impact of oxidative stress (OS) in retinal damage and its molecular mechanism. Results revealed that OS in the retina was enhanced soon after alkali injury.

Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) exists important role in membranous nephropathy. In this study, we evaluate a PLA2R1 in a middle-aged rat model of renal function repair to further investigate the molecular mechanisms of membranous nephropathy. We analyzed the PLA2R1 knockout (KO) model and PLA2R1 knock in (KI) model in rats, extending the time to 85 weeks of age.

Background: Gastric cancer, characterized by its high morbidity and mortality rates, exhibits low levels of RAB37. The role and molecular mechanisms of RAB37, a small GTPase, in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer are still unclear.

Methods: We assessed RAB37 expression in gastric cancer cells using quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), Western blot, and immunohistochemical staining (IHC), and analyzed EMT marker proteins and autophagy changes via Western blot, immunofluorescence (IF), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
