Severe, too many to count retinal hemorrhages (RH) in infants have been associated with abusive head trauma, but can occur in short falls. An 8-month-old male fell backward from a height of 26 cm, landing on his buttocks then hitting the back of his head on a vinyl floor. The fall was videotaped.

Inclusion body myositis is the commonest acquired myopathy in those over 50 years of age. Although it is classified as an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy and the most frequent finding on muscle biopsy in inclusion body myositis is an endomysial inflammatory infiltrate, it is clinically distinct from other myositis, including a lack of response to immunosuppressive medication. Neurogenic changes are commonly reported in inclusion body myositis and inflammatory changes are observed in muscle following neurogenic injury.

Maturation of the human fetal brain should follow precisely scheduled structural growth and folding of the cerebral cortex for optimal postnatal function. We present a normative digital atlas of fetal brain maturation based on a prospective international cohort of healthy pregnant women, selected using World Health Organization recommendations for growth standards. Their fetuses were accurately dated in the first trimester, with satisfactory growth and neurodevelopment from early pregnancy to 2 years of age.
