A comprehensive health effects assessment of the use of sanitizers and disinfectants during COVID-19 pandemic: a global survey.

COVID-19 has affected all aspects of human life so far. From the outset of the pandemic, preventing the spread of COVID-19 through the observance of health protocols, especially the use of sanitizers and disinfectants was given more attention. Despite the effectiveness of disinfection chemicals in controlling and preventing COVID-19, there are critical concerns about their adverse effects on human health.

Performance of an HPV 16/18 E6 oncoprotein test for detection of cervical precancer and cancer.

HPV testing is a better alternative for cervical cancer screening, but additional procedures are required for triage of HPV positive women. HPV encoded oncoproteins E6 and E7, as the main effectors of HPV carcinogenicity represent promising triage alternatives. To evaluate performance of the test, we included 155 women from a screening study and 59 from the same referral population attending colposcopy and with precancerous lesions.

Comparison of plethysmographic methods with pulsed Döppler blood flowmetry.

Hand blood flow was measured at rest, with local warming, and with local cooling. Three methods were simultaneously used: water plethysmography (WP), mercury-in-rubber strain gauge plethysmography (SG), and pulsed Döppler flowmetry (D). Of these, water plethysmography is the most sensitive and accurate; strain gauge plethysmography is simpler but less accurate; and pulsed Döppler flowmetry precisely measures instantaneous arterial blood flow without venous occlusion.
