Impact of pH and temperature on the electrochemical and semiconducting properties of zinc in alkaline buffer media.

The electrochemical and semiconductive properties of spontaneously formed passive films on pure Zn were investigated in alkaline carbonate/bicarbonate buffer solutions as functions of pH and temperature. The study was performed in 0.1 M (CO + HCO ) mixtures over the pH range 9.
