[Serotonin metabolism in children infected with Giardia intestinalis].

According to the data from the last 4 years, 3.8% of all diagnosed parasitoses are giardiases. During 5 years Giardia intestinalis was found in 24 children hospitalized in the General Hospital of the Wrocław Voivodship: in 14 girls and 10 boys, 2-12 years old.

This chapter provides an overview of rheumatic diseases and medical treatment options. The author describes in detail diagnostic and therapeutic standards proceedings in rheumatic fever, juvenile chronic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and Kawasaki disease.

Circulating immune complexes in Waldeyer's ring hypertrophy.

The investigations on the occurrence of CIC were carried out in 65 children with chronic tonsillitis, 39 with hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil and 14 children with chronic tonsillitis and hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil. Immune complexes were found in 20 children with chronic tonsillitis and in 5 children with chronic tonsillitis and hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil. In the control group (20 healthy children) and in children with hypertrophy of pharyngeal tonsil immune complexes are not detected.
