Background: The impact of parathyroidectomy on neuropsychiatric symptoms in primary hyperparathyroidism remains poorly defined. The validated scales Patient Health Questionnaire-9 and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 can be used to assess depression and anxiety, respectively.
