Background: Complete endothelialization is often not achieved within 6 months after implantation of an atrial septal defect (ASD) occluder, which may lead to microthrombus or thrombosis. This study aimed to assess the endothelialization and morphology of a novel puncturable ASD occluder (ReAces) compared with traditional occluders 1 year post-implantation using computed tomography angiography (CTA).

Methods: Fifteen patients from each group in a randomized controlled trial comparing ReAces with traditional occluders were included at the 1-year follow-up at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.

Background: The mechanisms underlying the resistance of the genus to aminoglycosides are complex, which poses a challenge for the efficient treatment of infectious diseases caused by these pathogens. To help clinicians treat infections more effectively, a more comprehensive understanding of antibiotic resistance mechanisms is urgently needed.

Methods: Plates were streaked to isolate bacteria from the intestinal contents of fish.

In this study, the dynamic effects of ultrasonic treatment (0-400 W) on the volatile flavor compounds of pumpkin juice under different storage periods were investigated systematically using a combination of headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) and gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) techniques. A total of 139 and 46 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were identified by GC-MS and GC-IMS, respectively. The results indicated that complex changes in volatile components occurred during storage.

In this paper, the interaction between egg white protein (EWP) and giant squid surimi was regulated by changing the ratio of surimi to EWP, and the mechanism of EWP on the gel properties of giant squid surimi was analyzed. The results showed that when the proportion of EWP was 16: 1, the hardness and springiness of surimi gel were the highest, reaching 645.5 g and 1.

Article Synopsis
  • Uterine teratomas are rare tumors found in postmenopausal women, and a case study of a 54-year-old woman highlights the challenges in diagnosing and treating them.
  • Hysteroscopic surgery was used to successfully remove a mass previously thought to be a fibroid, which was later confirmed to be a benign teratoma containing diverse tissues like fat, hair, and cartilage.
  • The study emphasizes the importance of hysteroscopy for diagnosis and treatment, discusses the difficulties in recognizing these tumors, and aims to enhance clinical understanding and guidelines for managing rare uterine masses.
