Supernovae and their remnants are a central problem in astrophysics due to their role in the stellar evolution and nuclear synthesis. A supernova's explosion is driven by a blast wave causing the development of Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov instabilities and leading to intensive interfacial mixing of materials of a progenitor star. Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov mixing breaks spherical symmetry of a star and provides conditions for synthesis of heavy mass elements in addition to light mass elements synthesized in the star before its explosion.

Seminal plasma biochemical markers and their association with semen analysis findings.

Objectives: To examine the clinical value of six seminal plasma components in the evaluation of sperm quality and in the differential diagnosis of men with infertility.

Methods: We analyzed 202 seminal plasmas for prostate-specific antigen, glucose, pepsinogen C, insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3, prostaglandin D synthase (PGDS), and BRCA1-like immunoreactive protein (BRCA1-LIP) using quantitative immunofluorometric procedures. The semen donors were categorized in four clinical groups: normal, oligospermic, azoospermic, and vasectomy patients.

The desire for a long and healthy life was expressed often by Assyrian kings in their extant public texts from the 14th through the 7th centuries BC. But advanced old age, whether for monarchs or commoners, was not achieved very often in the ancient world. Consequently, Assyrian royal inscriptions frequently reflect concern for another kind of longevity--an immortality achieved by having one's works and one's name preserved and remembered by posterity.
