Comparison of Supervised and Self-Supervised Deep Representations Trained on Histological Images.

Self-supervised methods gain more and more attention, especially in the medical domain, where the number of labeled data is limited. They provide results on par or superior to their fully supervised competitors, yet the difference between information coded by both methods is unclear. This work introduces a novel comparison framework for explaining differences between supervised and self-supervised models using visual characteristics important to the human perceptual system.

Ascariasis and its relationship with selected psycho-neurological symptoms among children and adults in Poland.

Unlabelled: Ascariasis is considered a public health problem mostly in tropical countries and thus studies are realized usually in those countries and particularly in children. As a result, there are limitations in the current literature that associate ascariasis with neurological disorders or psychomotor disturbances.

Aim: The aim of study was to prove our hypothesis that ascariasis in children and adults is related to selected psycho-neurological symptoms such as hyperactivity, tic disorders and nail biting (onychophagia).

The ability of Pt nanostructures to induce the splitting of the II bond in iodine (triiodide) molecules is explored here to enhance electron transfer in the iodine/iodide redox couple. Following the dispersal of Pt nanoparticles at 2 % (weight) level, charge transport was accelerated in triiodide/iodide-containing 1,3-dialkylimidazolium room-temperature ionic liquid. If both Pt nanoparticles and multi-walled carbon nanotubes were introduced into the ionic-liquid-based system, a solid-type (nonfluid) electrolyte was obtained.

Echocardiographic assessment of right atrial thrombus related to the implanted port device in patient receiving chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The case of a potentially life-threatening complication related to the use of implanted port device in a 8 year old Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma patient receiving chemotherapy is described. The device was inserted in early 1997 and used repeatedly for chemotherapy without any complications. [Right atrial thrombus complicating chemotherapy by central venous catheterization in a child with Hodgkin's disease].

The atrial catheter (subcutaneous port) was used in a 5 year old boy with Hodgkin's disease for the administration of antineoplastic agents and other drugs. Catheter was flushed daily or every 2 weeks with heparin solution (5 U/ml)). The complications including infection and occlusion were not observed in this patient during observation time.
