Forty patients with prostate adenocarcinoma had bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy, temporary Ir-192 implantation, and external irradiation. With the implant, the prostate received less than or equal to 3,000 rad (30 Gy) for A2 and B1 and 3,500 rad (35 Gy) for B2 and C lesions in 40-45 hours. Ten days to 2 weeks later, 4,000 rad (40 Gy) external irradiation was given in 4-5 weeks using AP and PA parallel opposed fields, a "box," or rotation.

Loop catheter extraction of ureteral stones has been used consistently by our group for over thirty years. Stones of up to 1.5 cm in largest dimension can be removed by this method, and for stones of any size there is less trauma to the ureter than with basket extraction.

Since certain animals are endowed with an os penis the concept of using penile implants was a natural development. Herein we report on our experience with the Small-Carrion penile prosthesis in 23 patients. The surgical technique is described as well as several examples of postoperative results.
