Background: Sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, and hypertension are all widespread public health problems in middle-aged and older populations, and their association is controversial. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between obesity, sarcopenia, and sarcopenic obesity with hypertension in a middle-aged and older community population in China through a large-scale longitudinal design.

Methods: In this cohort study with 7 years of follow-up, the study population was drawn from participants in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2011 and followed up in 2013, 2015, and 2018.

Next-generation real-time gas sensors are crucial for detecting multiple gases simultaneously with high sensitivity and selectivity. In this study, ternary metal sulfide (PbSnS)-incorporated metal oxide (SnO) heterostructures were synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method. Characterizations such as X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed the successful formation of PbSnS/SnO heterostructures.

Amino acids are crucial nutrients for growth in crops. In this study, we found an amino acid transporter-like 13 (OsATL13), that coordinately determined rice yield and quality. OsATL13 was primarily expressed in the root and panicle, its protein was localized on plasma membrane, and it principally transported phenylalanine and methionine.
