Article Synopsis
  • - The study focused on translating the International Female Coital Incontinence Questionnaire (IFCI-Q) into Arabic (specifically for the Egyptian population) and validating its effectiveness for women who experience coital urinary incontinence (CI).
  • - An expert panel translated the questionnaire, which was then tested for clarity and reliability among sixty patients divided into two groups: those with CI and those without, revealing significant differences in responses and high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha between 0.9-1).
  • - The validated Arabic IFCI-Q can be effectively used in various Arabic-speaking countries, helping improve the assessment of coital incontinence across different cultural and demographic groups.*

Article Synopsis
  • Synthetic mid-urethral slings (MUSs) are commonly used to treat female stress urinary incontinence, but there are concerns about serious complications from their use, leading to the exploration of alternative methods like the transobturator tension-free vaginal flap (TO-TVF).
  • In a study involving 72 female patients, those undergoing TO-TVF showed improvement similar to those with conventional transobturator tape (TOT), with cure rates of 89% and 91.4% respectively, and no significant complications reported in either group.
  • TO-TVF is suggested as a safe and effective surgical alternative to synthetic slings, utilizing natural tissue while potentially reducing risks associated with synthetic materials, though further long-term studies

Introduction And Objectives: Data on the use of single step dilatation technique during pediatric percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in the literature is sparse. In this prospective randomized study, we aimed to compare the safety, efficacy, and perioperative complications of single step versus serial tract dilatation using Alken metal telescopic dilators during pediatric PCNL.

Methods: Patients undergoing PCNL were randomized into two groups according to the dilatation technique used.
