Stem cell transplantation is a promising strategy to establish neural relays in situ for spinal cord injury (SCI) repair. Recent research has reported short-term survival of exogenous cells, irrespective of immunosuppressive drugs (ISD), results in similar function recovery, though the mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to validate this short-term repair effect and the potential mechanisms in large animals.

Case Presentation: A 71-year-old female presented with left limb weakness and unclear speech following CAS. Imaging revealed a new cerebral infarction and right internal carotid artery stenosis.
Background: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and asthma is rising, yet evidence regarding the relationship between T2D and asthma, particularly in the context of genetic predispositions, remains limited.
Methods: This study utilized data from the UK Biobank longitudinal cohort, involving 388,775 participants. A polygenic risk score (PRS) for asthma was derived from genome-wide association studies summary.
Targeting the cardiomyocyte cell cycle is a promising strategy for heart repair following injury. Here, we identify a cardiac-regeneration-associated PIWI-interacting RNA (CRAPIR) as a regulator of cardiomyocyte proliferation. Genetic ablation or antagomir-mediated knockdown of CRAPIR in mice impairs cardiomyocyte proliferation and reduces heart regenerative potential.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on four male patients who underwent surgery involving C1 PASs and C2 translaminar screws between January 2022 and February 2024. Surgical technique involved the insertion of standard C1 lateral mass screws (LMS) and C2 pedicle screws, followed by the placement of C1 PASs and C2 translaminar screws for additional fixation.
