Background: Extraction of impacted third molars is a standard procedure in dentistry. However, the postoperative inflammation and pain are undesired and uncomfortable. Methylprednisolone has emerged as a possible solution to improve outcomes.

In many species, sex-linked genes are downregulated during meiosis in response to asynapsis of the heterogametic sex chromosome pair (meiotic sex chromosome inactivation; MSCI). Our understanding of this process has been limited to a handful of species, including mammals, , and Based on findings from these taxa, MSCI has been viewed as likely a conserved process.

For methodological development, the PCC (Population, Concept, Context) strategy was used for the focus question construction: "In patients with periodontal and/or peri-implant disease, what bacteria (microorganisms) were detected through laboratory assays?" The search strategy was applied to PubMed/MEDLINE, PubMed Central, and Embase. The search key terms, combined with Boolean markers, were (1) bacteria, (2) microbiome, (3) microorganisms, (4) biofilm, (5) niche, (6) native bacteria, (7) gingivitis), (8) periodontitis, (9) peri-implant mucositis, and (10) peri-implantitis.

Most studies have focused on estrogen and progesterone, and the involvement of androgens has been less studied. However, due to the recent advances in androgen interventions, which could advance new androgen-based migraine treatments, it is critical to better understand the role of androgens in migraine.

Substantial research has been conducted in the biomedical sensing landscape for development of non-human contact sensing devices. One such point-of-care platform, previously devised by our group, utilizes autofluorescence-based spectroscopic signatures to highlight important physiological differences in tumorous and healthy tissue.
