On-line monitoring for control of a pilot-scale sequencing batch reactor using a submersible UV/VIS spectrometer.

A submersible UV/VIS spectrometer was used to monitor a pilot-scale sequencing batch reactor (SBR). The instrument utilises the whole UV/VIS range between 200 and 750 nm. With just one single instrument nitrate, organic matter and suspended solids can be measured simultaneously.
