Background: Active video game (AVG) playing, also known as "exergaming," is increasingly employed to promote physical activity across all age groups. The Wii Fit Balance Board is a popular gaming controller for AVGs and is used in a variety of settings. However, the commercial off-the-shelf (OTS) design poses several limitations.

Background/aims: To characterise in vivo Schlemm's canal (SC) and collector channels (CC) microstructures using enhanced-depth imaging (EDI) optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Methods: Serial horizontal EDI OCT B-scans (81 scans, 15×5° rectangle) were prospectively obtained in the nasal and temporal limbus. SC cross-sectional area (CSA) was measured by delineating its lumen in each B-scan.

This paper describes the development of multidisciplinary, team-based learning environments in undergraduate and graduate engineering curricula focused on medical device design.

Comparison of equine articular cartilage thickness in various joints.

Purpose: Thicknesses of fresh equine articular cartilage surfaces from the fetlock, carpal and stifle joints were measured employing a needle probe test.

Materials And Methods: Eighty-seven samples used in measurement were cultivated from fetlock, carpal and stifle joints of 12 deceased within 4 h of death. After approximately three minutes of exposure to air during dissection, all cartilage samples were preserved in a saline solution to keep the articular cartilage hydrated for testing.

Effect of Intralipid, amino acids, container, temperature, and duration of storage on vitamin stability in total parenteral nutrition admixtures.

This study was designed to determine the stability of certain vitamins added to total parenteral nutrition (TPN) admixtures with or without Intralipid iv fat emulsion and with each of four amino acid solutions stored in either glass bottles or plastic bags at either ambient room (25 degrees C) or refrigerator (5 degrees C) temperature for a 48-hr period. Riboflavin and folacin were not affected by the experimental conditions. The presence of Intralipid resulted in higher levels of vitamin E due to Intralipid's inherent vitamin E content; no other experimental conditions affected vitamin E.
