The Silesian physician Adam Christian Thebesius (1686-1732) was one of the most renowned scientists studying the coronary circulation and its pathologies in the eighteenth century. His groundbreaking work opened the field of coronary microcirculation for generations of scientists to come. In 1708, Thebesius published his anatomical thesis, "Disputatio medica inauguralis de circulo sanguinis in corde", describing the cardiac veins that emptied into chambers of the heart, the vasa cordis minima.

We studied the contribution of exogenous and endogenous circadian control mechanisms to rod retinomotor movements in the teleost retina and their dependence on an intact dopaminergic system. Blue acara (Aequidens pulcher) were kept under a 12:12 h light/dark cycle.

PRL, in turn, appears to be capable of activating these neurons, thus, providing for a negative feedback regulation. We have recently shown that cultured hypothalamic GABAergic- but not DAergic neurons respond to PRL with a rapid increase in intracellular free calcium.
