Infection control and antimicrobial stewardship programs (ICASPs) are essential to reduce the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance. Implementing comprehensive electronic health record systems potentially decreases readmission rates by improving medication reconciliation at discharge, demonstrating the additional benefits of inpatient EHRs beyond improved safety and decreased errors.
Objective: To compare 30-day all-cause readmission incidence rates within Medicare fee-for-service with heart failure discharged from hospitals with full implementation levels of comprehensive EHR systems versus those without.
With current national emphasis on translational research, data exchange systems are needed that bridge basic science and clinical research. There was no clinical or radiological evidence of cerebellar medulloblastoma, other intracranial tumor or paraspinal sympathetic neuroblastoma. Two patients died: autopsies revealed no primary intracranial neoplasm.
