Cervical anastomotic leakage (AL) is a severe complication following esophageal cancer surgery, leading to significant morbidity and risk of mortality. This case report describes the successful application of negative pressure wound therapy with instillation (NPWTi) in managing AL after esophageal surgery. In this work, we investigated the transcriptional activity of HERVs following infection of human liver cells (HepaRG) with human adenovirus C serotype 5 (HAdV-C5). HAdV-C5 infection results in reactivation of several HERV groups as well as differentially expressed genes.

Background: Double aortic arch (DAA) with type B aortic dissection in adults is a rare aortic vascular disease. The abnormal anatomical structure of the aortic arch in such patients presents significant challenges in the selection of surgical approaches, and there is a notable lack of exploration into endovascular repair approaches that simultaneously preserve asymptomatic vascular rings.
Case Description: A 43-year-old female patient was admitted due to recurrent chest and back pain lasting for over a month.
