Scholarly productivity continues to be used as a significant factor when universities make decisions about granting tenure to faculty, allocating resources, and supporting program goals. In 2009, DuPree, White, Meredith, Ruddick, and Anderson reviewed research productivity in faculty from COAMFTE-accredited PhD programs. As an update, the purpose of this article is to re-examine scholarly productivity trends among COAMFTE-accredited doctoral programs through the use of several evaluation methods.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe develop novel designs enabling slow-light propagation with vanishing group-velocity dispersion ("frozen light") and slow-light with large delay-bandwidth product, in periodic nanowires. Our design is based on symmetry-breaking of periodic nanowire waveguides and we demonstrate its vailidy through two- and three-dimensional simulations. The slow-light is associated with a stationary inflection point which appears through coupling between forward and backward waveguide modes.

Previous studies have suggested the diagnostic value of S100P, S100A4, and S100A6 in PDA. In this study, we evaluated pVHL, S100P, S100A4, and S100A6 as potential markers for PDA, pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN), ampullary adenocarcinoma (AAD), and cholangiocarcinoma (CC).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFEven though the cytologic criteria for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) on fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) specimens have been well defined, a diagnostic challenge is still present. We immunohistochemically evaluated the diagnostic value of S100P on cell-block and/or smear preparations in 58 cases of FNAB specimens of the pancreas. The 58 cases were divided into 4 groups: 1, 32 cases of PDA; 2, 6 cases with an atypical or "suspicious" diagnosis; 3, 14 cases of benign or reactive ductal epithelium; and 4, 6 cases of endocrine tumor.
