Glioblastoma (GBM), the most common primary brain tumor, lacks effective treatments. Emerging evidence suggests mitochondria as a promising therapeutic target, albeit successfully targeting represents a major challenge. Recently, we discovered a group of triterpenes that can self-assemble into nanoparticles (NPs) for cancer treatment.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined trends in controlling low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and the use of lipid-lowering drugs among Taiwanese patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
  • Data was collected from the T-SPARCLE Registry, categorizing ASCVD patients based on their medical history, and analyzed LDL-C levels from 2015-2020 along with therapy patterns.
  • Results showed an increase in lipids-lowering drug use, but over 60% of patients still did not meet LDL-C targets, highlighting gaps in following treatment guidelines, particularly for those with acute coronary syndrome or prior interventions.

Subjects who have ischemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) experience angina pectoris with evidence of myocardial ischemia but without coronary stenosis. Few studies have investigated factors associated with its survival, especially insulin resistance. In this study, subjects with angina pectoris, without known diabetes mellites (DM), and with non-invasive tests showing myocardial ischemia were admitted for coronary angiography (CAG).

We present an in-depth analysis of dyslipidemia management strategies for patients with diabetes mellitus in Taiwan. It critically examines the disparity between established guideline recommendations and actual clinical practices, particularly in the context of evolving policies affecting statin prescriptions. The focus is on synthesizing the most recent findings concerning lipid management in patients with diabetes mellitus, with a special emphasis on establishing consensus regarding low-density lipoprotein cholesterol treatment targets.
