Mimicking Electromagnetic Wave Coupling in Tokamak Plasma with Fishnet Metamaterials.

This paper reports a fishnet hyperbolic metamaterial that mimics the electromagnetic properties of magnetically confined plasma. These electromagnetic properties are strongly anisotropic and different from any conventional material, therefore cannot be mimicked by bulk materials. The structure is made of a stack of thin copper grids spaced by Rohacell foam.

ITER-like antenna capacitors voltage probes: Circuit/electromagnetic calculations and calibrations.

The analyses illustrated in this manuscript have been performed in order to provide the required data for the amplitude-and-phase calibration of the D-dot voltage probes used in the ITER-like antenna at the Joint European Torus tokamak. Their equivalent electrical circuit has been extracted and analyzed, and it has been compared to the one of voltage probes installed in simple transmission lines. A radio-frequency calibration technique has been formulated and exact mathematical relations have been derived.

Demodex Folliculitis of the Scalp: Clinicopathological Study of an Uncommon Entity.

Demodex is a saprophytic mite in humans commonly present in the pilosebaceous units, which has been implicated as a pathogen in several skin conditions. The clinical presentation and histopathology of Demodex folliculitis of the scalp have been described in only a few case reports. This study was performed to further elucidate the clinicopathological features of this entity.

Acrokeratosis verruciformis of Hopf showing P602L mutation in ATP2A2 and overlapping histopathological features with Darier disease.

The relationship between acrokeratosis verruciformis (AKV) of Hopf and Darier disease (DD) has been debated for several decades. Both diseases are now thought to result from mutations in the same gene, that is, the ATP2A2 gene encoding the sarco (endo) plasmic reticulum Ca ATPase2 pump (SERCA2), although their histopathological features are different. We sought to detect possible overlapping histopathological features between AKV and DD.

Elevated serum total IgE--a potential marker for severe chronic urticaria.

Background: Elevated IgE levels in patients with chronic urticaria have been noted previously, but the significance of these findings has not been appreciated.

Objective: To measure the IgE levels in such patients and to examine the relationship between these levels and urticarial severity, autologous serum skin test, anti-thyroid antibodies and duration.

Methods: Serum total IgE levels from 203 patients with chronic urticaria were measured and compared with nonatopic individuals.
