A well-constructed pollen wall is essential for pollen fertility, which relies on the contribution of tapetum. Our results demonstrate an essential role of the tapetum-expressed protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) B'α and B'β in pollen wall formation. The b'aβ double mutant pollen grains harbored sticky remnants and tectum breakages, resulting in failed release.

Circulating glycine levels have been associated with reduced risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) in humans but these associations have not been observed in all studies. We evaluated whether the relationship between glycine levels and atherosclerosis was causal using genetic analyses in humans and feeding studies in mice. Serum glycine levels were evaluated for association with risk of CAD in the UK Biobank.

Background: To determine the efficacy of 4-phenylbutyrate (4-PB) or sodium 4-phenylbutyrate (SPB) in treating diseases caused by genetic mutations.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE for studies of patients with genetic mutations treated with 4-PB or SPB. All data were tested using RStudio software.

The integration of mid-infrared (MIR) photodetectors with built-in encryption capabilities holds immense promise for advancing secure communications in decentralized networks and compact sensing systems. However, achieving high sensitivity, self-powered operation, and reliable performance at room temperature within a miniaturized form factor remains a formidable challenge, largely due to constraints in MIR light absorption and the intricacies of embedding encryption at the device level. Here, a novel on-chip metamaterial-enhanced, 2D tantalum nickel selenide (Ta₂NiSe₅)-based photodetector, meticulously designed with a custom-engineered plasmonic resonance microstructure to achieve self-powered photodetection in the nanoampere range is unveiled.
