Research in this laboratory has shown that some citrus limonoids can inhibit the development of 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene-induced oral tumors. The data from these studies have suggested that certain rings in the limonoid nucleus may be critical to antineoplastic activity. Using the hamster cheek pouch model, three new limonoids (ichangensin, deoxylimonin, and obacunone) have now been tested for cancer chemopreventive activity.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to report one case of intraosseous oral leiomyoma and to systematically review the English literature.
Methods: The clinical and radiographic findings of a patient who presented with intraosseous oral leiomyoma were recorded. In addition, 11 references from the English literature that reported 12 patients were reviewed.
A 60-year-old man developed a mass on his forehead in his childhood. Histologic examination revealed a subcutaneous encapsulated cellular neoplasm consisting of mostly polygonal epithelioid cells, with abundant amphophilic cytoplasm and pleomorphic nuclei. There was one focal area of spindle cells.
