Spinal Coccidioidomycosis: MR Imaging Findings in 41 Patients.

Background And Purpose: is a dimorphic fungus endemic to the Southwest United States and Mexico, and at our institution, it is a relatively common pathogen presenting with a broad spectrum of associated spine diseases. We describe the various spinal manifestations resulting from coccidioidal infection and provide MR imaging examples from 41 pathologically proved cases.

Intraventricular fat from retrograde flow through a lumboperitoneal shunt.

We present a case of intraventricular fat deposits discovered on magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in the absence of a ruptured dermoid cyst. The patient is a 25-year-old right-handed African-American female who previously had lumboperitoneal (LP) shunt placement for pseudotumor cerebri. She had multiple shunt-related complications that required two revisions as well as an incisional hernia repair.

CT findings in xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis with coexistent renocolic fistula.

A case of diffuse xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis of the kidney with an associated renocolic fistula is reported. Computed tomography demonstrated typical findings with an enlarged poorly functioning kidney with multiple near-water-density masses replacing the renal parenchyma surrounding a central staghorn calculus. A mottled gas collection within the renal parenchyma was secondary to a renocolic fistula rather than a pyogenic abscess.
