Controlled laboratory experiments are often performed on amphibians to establish causality between stressor presence and an adverse outcome. However, in the field, identification of lab-generated biomarkers from single stressors and the interactions of multiple impacts are difficult to discern in an ecological context. The ubiquity of some pesticides and anthropogenic contaminants results in potentially cryptic sublethal effects or synergistic effects among multiple stressors.

Background: Migrant women who are pregnant or postpartum and their infants are often at increased risk of poorer perinatal outcomes compared to host country populations. This review aimed to identify public health, policy, and clinical interventions to improve maternity care for migrant women and their infants in high-income countries (HICs).

Methods: In this systematic review we searched EMBASE, EMCARE, MEDLINE and PsycINFO, CENTRAL, Scopus, CINAHL Plus, Web of Science, and grey literature from inception to 13th March 2024, with no language or date restrictions (PROSPERO: CRD42022380678).

Some half-sandwich compounds with a variety of ligands and metal centres have shown promising anticancer activity. Herein we report a series of reactions between the sulfonylthiourea ligands -TolSONHC(S)NHPh, EtSONHC(S)NHPh and CHSONHC(S)NHPh and [(η--cymene)RuCl], [(η-arene)RuCl(PR)] (arene = benzene or -cymene), [Cp*MCl(PR)] or [Cp*RhCl] (M = Ir(III), Rh(III)), Cp* = η-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, PR = triphenylphosphine (PPh), tris(2-cyanoethyl)phosphine (tcep) and 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (pta) and their corresponding piano stool complexes. Single crystal X-ray diffraction structure determinations indicated that the resulting linkage isomer of the complex, , (coordination S,N placing the sulfonyl group near the coordination sphere) or (coordination S,N, placing the sulfonyl group away from the coordination sphere), is directly related to the steric bulk around the metal centre.

Objectives: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a disorder of gut-brain interaction with an unknown precise etiology. Intricate mechanisms underlying the disruption of bidirectional communication between the brain and the gut may influence the severity of symptoms as well as the response to self-management interventions. Management of IBS can be particularly challenging due to recurrent and resistant symptoms to therapeutic approaches.

Purpose: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols are widely used in the post-operative care of hernia patients. Despite their prevalence, an absence of published consensus guidelines creates significant heterogeneity in practices. The aim of this study was to evaluate elements in ERAS protocols utilized in ventral hernia repair from institutions across the United States and provide consensus recommendations for each identified element.
