We obtained the near-complete simian foamy virus (SFV) genome from an infected human bitten by an African green monkey ( SFVcae_hu501). The genome is 13,062 nucleotides long with the classical SFV genome structure. Phylogenetically, SFVcae_hu501 clustered closely with SFV from (SFVagm_LK3).

Using polymerase () sequences from 193 people associated with the investigation, we document high HIV-1 diversity, including Subtype B (44.6 per cent); numerous circulating recombinant forms (CRFs) including CRF02_AG (2.

Bioinformatics methods for hantavirus diagnostics, genomic surveillance and epidemiology are currently lacking a comprehensive approach for data sharing, integration, visualization, analytics and reporting. With the possibility of hantavirus cases going undetected and spreading over international borders, a significant reporting delay can miss linked transmission events and impedes timely, targeted public health interventions.

We determined the prevalence of surveillance drug resistance mutations (SDRMs) and HIV-1 genetic diversity in Bulgaria during 2012-2020 using polymerase sequences from 1053 of 2010 (52.4%) antiretroviral therapy (ART)-naive individuals.
