Method: As genetic and environmental factors interactively impact these conditions, we investigated how risk factors such as APOE genotype, age, and sex influence immune activation markers and AD biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in elderly individuals enrolled in the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging cohort. Among cognitively unimpaired individuals aged over 65 at the baseline visit (N=298), we measured 365 CSF immune activation markers using the proximity extension assay.

Background And Objectives: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related inflammation (CAA-ri) is a subtype of CAA with distinct clinical and radiologic features. Existing diagnostic criteria require the presence of characteristic asymmetrical white matter hyperintensity (WMH), together with classical hemorrhagic neuroimaging markers of CAA. There are limited data for other diagnostic neuroimaging markers of CAA-ri.

Whereas the escalating impacts of water management on freshwater ecosystems is well documented, the effects of cold-water releases from dams-which can alter downstream temperatures-remains relatively underexplored but may present novel challenges to endemic ectotherms. Specifically, little is known about how thermal depressions reshape phenotypic and genetic patterns during larval metamorphosis for fishes that evolved in warmwater systems.
