Background And Objectives: Faculty members who are underrepresented in medicine (URM) may benefit from mentorship that is designed specifically to meet their unique needs and is focused on improving their career pathways in academic medicine. The Underrepresented in Medicine Mentorship Program (URM-MP) is an academic society-based mentorship program that pairs early career URM faculty with mid- to late-career faculty specifically trained to address URM issues.

Methods: During the first 3 years of the program, mentors received web-based training on addressing oppression and marginalization of URM faculty in academic medicine.

Noninvasive Cardiac Testing.

For patients with chest discomfort, noninvasive cardiac testing can be used for the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome and for the evaluation of the risk of future cardiovascular events and disease severity in patients with known coronary artery disease. Clinical prediction rules can guide risk assessment for patients with acute or stable chest discomfort. For acute chest discomfort, patients with low risk do not need urgent testing, and those at high risk should have invasive coronary angiography.

Introduction: Acute pancreatitis is a common cause of hospitalizations in the United States, causing approximately 230 000 to 275 000 annual admissions We present the case of a patient with acute pancreatitis likely due to doxycycline.

Case Presentation: A 64-year-old male was admitted after developing acute epigastric pain radiating to his back, a lipase of 6611 (units/L), and a computed tomography scan showing moderate peripancreatic inflammation. He had no recent alcohol use, his gallbladder was surgically absent, and he had no gallbladder pathology on evaluation; however, he had been started on doxycycline 10 days prior.
