Background: Timely diagnosis of heart failure (HF) in patients with a systemic right ventricle (sRV) is difficult but important since clinical deterioration is fast once HF develops. We aimed to compare echocardiography and biomarker profile between sRV patients with and without HF and patients with a systemic left ventricle diagnosed with HF (sLV-HF).

Methods And Results: Eighty-seven sRV patients and 30 sLV-HF patients underwent echocardiographic evaluation and blood sampling.

Background: Apixaban is increasingly used instead of vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) for long-term anticoagulation during HeartMate 3 (HM3) support. However, data on its pharmacokinetics in this context is lacking. We present real-world data on apixaban levels and outcomes in adult and pediatric HM3 patients, and evaluate our dosing strategy based on plasma sampling.

Background: Transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis is more prevalent than initially thought. As much as 13% of patients hospitalized with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction may have ATTR-cardiomyopathy (CM). Conversely, heart transplant patients may manifest left ventricular hypertrophy or diastolic dysfunction, especially late after transplantation.

Aims: Decision-makers still predominantly focus on the perspective of non-patient stakeholders, which may deviate from the unique perspective of heart failure (HF) patients. To enhance patient-centred decision-making, there is a need for more patient-based evidence derived directly from the patients themselves. Hence, this study aimed to understand (i) HF patients' unmet medical needs and preferred treatment outcomes; (ii) patients' risk tolerance; and (iii) their information needs, uncertainties and satisfaction towards HF treatment.

Aims: Data on sex and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) utilization and outcomes have been conflicting and mostly confined to US studies incorporating older devices. This study aimed to investigate sex-related differences in LVAD utilization and outcomes in a contemporary European LVAD cohort.

Methods And Results: This analysis is part of the multicentre PCHF-VAD registry studying continuous-flow LVAD patients.
