Background: Free chatbots powered by large language models offer lateral ankle sprains (LAS) treatment recommendations but lack scientific validation.

Methods: The chatbots-Claude, Perplexity, and ChatGPT-were evaluated by comparing their responses to a questionnaire and their treatment algorithms against current clinical guidelines. Responses were graded on accuracy, conclusiveness, supplementary information, and incompleteness, and evaluated individually and collectively, with a 60 % pass threshold.

Transosseous lacerations represent a particular type of discoligamentous injury of the cervical spine and occur in ankylosing diseases of the spine, with ankylosing spondylitis and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) being the primary entities. The altered biomechanics of the spine due to the underlying disease pose special challenges in the diagnostics and treatment. Even low-energy trauma can cause severe injuries of the cervical spine, which are often difficult to accurately diagnose due to the difficult assessability of the conventional projection radiography used in the primary diagnostics.

Objective: Osteosynthesis in dislocated diametaphyseal forearm fractures is intended to restore anatomy and function. Antegrade intramedullary nailing in the radius is used to restore length, rotation, and axis within the age-specific correction limits. Background: The protection and maintenance of hospital functionality and treatment capacity require preventative planning and preparation for a mass casualty incident with respect to the scenarios, disasters or catastrophes to be expected. The hospital alarm and operations (KAEP) or stockpiling plan should include and organize the procedures and measures in the respective clinics and hospitals. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the hospitals of the Trauma Networks of the German Society for Trauma Surgery® (TNW DGU®) with respect to the established organizational structures and contents of the KAEP.
