The influence of mental load on muscle tension.

Unlabelled: We examined the differences in muscle tension and in physiological measures depending on the type of mental task. Fifteen participants performed tests for sustained attention, vigilance and maintaining posture only. We analysed electromyogram (EMG) measures of extensor digitorum (ED), flexor carpi ulnaris (FU), deltoideus (DE) and trapezius (TR), and heart rate (HR) and respiratory frequency (RF).

Modeling and simulation of physical performance of a external unilateral mechatronic orthopaedic fixator - bone system.

Restricted element study of the fracture healing by external fixation device was investigated. The analyses were performed under an axial and variable loaded boundary conditions. The effect of different fracture size and different distance between bone and the external fixator device on the stress distribution was investigated.

First clinical trials of using knee stabilisers with adaptable kinematics for functional treatment of periarticular fractures-experimental research and computer simulation.

This paper presents an orthopedic stabiliser to be used for the treatment of periarticular fractures of the knee joint. The design of the device is documented by experimental research of the knee joint kinematics. Experimental and simulation research suggest the use of a four-bar linkage mechanism.
