A rare case of colonic ulcer.

A 72-year-old woman presented to our outpatient department due to diarrhea that began 10 days ago without a known trigger. The patient presented with frequent (four to five times a day), loose yellow stool, containing significant mucus. She reported no obvious symptoms such as abdominal distension, pain, chills or fever, and her medical history included diabetes and hypertension.

Use of a novel claw-suture technique for localization of solitary pulmonary nodules: retrospective study and experience from one center.

Background: Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is more effective for diagnosing and treating solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs). It is sometimes difficult to localize through use of minimally invasive techniques. We evaluated the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of a novel localization method for SPNs.

Lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) is upregulated in multiple cancer types and contributes to the Warburg effect. Several studies have found that many tumor-related genes have subtypes and play important roles in promoting cancer development. Here, we identified a novel LDHA transcript, which produced a new protein 3 kDa larger than LDHA, which we named LDHAα.

The value of nonenhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the grading of primary lower extremity lymphedema.

Objective: The International Society of Lymphology (ISL) proposed a grading standard for lymphedema in 2020 based on the percent increase in the volume of the affected limb compared to that of the healthy limb. However, this method is cumbersome and time-consuming to measure and calculate, and a standardized formula across different institutions is not available. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the value of nonenhanced MRI for grading primary lower extremity lymphedema (PLEL).
