Evaluation of an enhanced ResNet-18 classification model for rapid On-site diagnosis in respiratory cytology.

Objective: Rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of respiratory cytology specimens is a critical technique for accurate and timely diagnosis of lung cancer. However, in China, limited familiarity with the Diff-Quik staining method and a shortage of trained cytopathologists hamper utilization of ROSE. Therefore, developing an improved deep learning model to assist clinicians in promptly and accurately evaluating Diff-Quik stained cytology samples during ROSE has important clinical value.

The prognostic impact of 1q21 gain/amplification in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: a retrospective study based on a single center in China.

1q21gain/amp is the most common in patients with multiple myeloma. However, there is limited research on the prognostic heterogeneity of 1q21+, and the prognostic of the 1q21 copy remains controversial. In this study, we primarily conducted a retrospective analysis of the prognostic significance of 1q21 gain/amp in 375 newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients.

The clinical characteristics and surgical strategy in infants with lingual thyroglossal duct cyst.

Objectives: Lingual Thyroglossal Duct Cysts (LTDCs) are a rare variant of thyroglossal duct Cyst (LDC). This study aimed to explore the efficacy of transoral excision of LTDC and evaluate the added benefit of concomitant management of laryngomalacia during the surgical intervention.

Methods: Infants with LTDCs were retrospectively collected from our department from January 2009 to January 2022.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound vesicles that are shed or secreted from the cell membrane and enveloped by a lipid bilayer. They possess stability, low immunogenicity, and non-cytotoxicity, exhibiting extensive prospects in regenerative medicine (RM). However, natural EVs pose challenges, such as insufficient targeting capabilities, potential biosafety concerns, and limited acquisition pathways.
