Outcome of Liver Retransplantation in Patients With Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis.

Background And Aims: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is among the most common indications for liver transplantation in the Nordic countries and with an increasing trend in Europe and North America. Due to post-transplant complications and high prevalence of disease recurrence this group is at risk of requiring retransplantation (re-LTX). Results from re-LTX for PSC are not extensively studied and there is a lack of knowledge regarding prognosis after re-LTX in this population.

Patient reported outcomes and decision regret scores in redo-paraesophageal hernia repair.

Introduction: Recurrent paraesophageal hernia (PEH) repair presents significant technical challenges, with limited data weighing the benefit to the operative risk. This study aims to describe our experience with recurrent PEH repair, including long-term surgical and patient reported outcomes (PROs).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of recurrent PEH repairs from June 2018-March 2023 using our institutional database.

Liver transplantation (LTX) using donors after controlled circulatory death (cDCD) is associated with poorer graft survival and increased incidence of nonanastomotic biliary strictures (NASs) compared to livers procured from brain-dead donors (DBD). The use of normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) during cDCD procurement may improve posttransplant outcomes and reduce the incidence of NAS. In Sweden, cDCD LTX was introduced through a national pilot protocol with mandatory NRP.

Introduction: The Set Brave Goals app is the first digital health app (DHA) aimed at helping children with spina bifida (SB) aged 8-17 years old to select and track their urinary and fecal continence goals. Developed by children, parents, providers and researchers, its usability, or appropriateness to a purpose ("user-friendliness"), remains unknown. In an alpha testing stage, our aim was to determine the usability of the app prior to clinical use.
