Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) have emerged as an increasingly popular class of medications commonly used for glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and for weight loss. GLP-1 RAs also have potential benefits in patients with various neurological diseases independent of their glucose-modulating effect. In this focused review, we explore animal and clinical evidence evaluating the impact of GLP-1 RAs in common neurological diseases.

We analyzed the impact of the implementation of a logical, consensus-based diagnostic and treatment protocol for managing nosocomial pneumonias in the cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit (CVS-ICU).
Methods: We conducted a quasi-experimental, interrupted time series analysis to evaluate the impact of a diagnostic and treatment protocol for nosocomial pneumonias in the CVS-ICU.
Introduction: Anaemia is highly prevalent in critical illness and is associated with impaired outcomes during and after hospitalisation. However, the impact of interventions designed to attenuate or treat anaemia during critical illness on post-hospitalisation haemoglobin recovery and functional outcomes is unclear.
Methods And Analysis: The Practical Anemia Bundle for Sustained Blood Recovery (PABST-BR) clinical trial is a pragmatic, open-label, parallel group, single-centre, randomised clinical trial assessing the impact of a multifaceted anaemia prevention and treatment strategy versus standard care for improvement of haemoglobin concentrations and functional outcomes after critical illness.
We examined differences and associations between physical fitness and behavioral factors with obesity in a multi-ethnic student population. Study population included non-Hispanic whites (NHW, = 1,454); Hispanics ( = 1,436) and Asians ( = 1,016) at a metropolitan university from Fall 2006 to Fall 2013. Analyses of Variance and regression analyses, utilizing cross-sectional data, measured the association between fitness, and behavior with obesity.
