Aberrant anatomical variation of the vertebral artery (VA) from an internal carotid artery (ICA) is considered a rare finding. The incidence of this phenomenon can lead to patients suffering from posterior circulation neurological deficit if the ICA becomes significantly diseased. VA atypical anatomical origin is considered one of the rare pathologies, not only precipitating neurovascular incidents but equally leading to severe difficulty in VA dissection and surgical exposure, especially in carotid artery procedures.

Purpose: To investigate the morphologic and functional outcomes of nanosecond subthreshold (ST) laser treatment for patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC).

Methods: In this prospective study, 44 patients were treated with the ST nanosecond laser with a follow-up period of 12 months. All target variables were measured at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after the first laser treatment.

Purpose: To evaluate the outcome of excimer laser-assisted deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (Exc-DALK) and penetrating keratoplasty (Exc-PKP) for keratoconus (KC).

Methods: We included 123 eyes and compared the outcome of 30 eyes undergoing big-bubble Exc-DALK after stromal debulking (G1) against a matched group of 83 eyes undergoing Exc-PKP (G2) in our department. G2 was created after performing a pseudorandom stratified bootstrapping of our PKP database starting with 2802 surgeries with removal of any bias.

Aims: To investigate the changes in retinal microvasculature by contemporary imaging techniques during episodes of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) and following recompensation compared to age-matched controls without known cardiac or retinal disease.

Methods And Results: Adult patients hospitalized with a primary diagnosis of ADHF, regardless of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and treated with a minimum dose of 40 mg of intravenous furosemide or equivalent were included. Transthoracic echocardiography was conducted in all patients.
