Third trimester HbAIc was determined in 57 pregnant women according to the TBA-reaction, first discribed by Flückiger and Winterhalter (1976). Simultaneously oral glucose tolerance tests (GTT) were performed in 52 patients; in 5 insulin dependent diabetic women dayly blood sugar profiles 2 to 5 times per week were done throughout the third trimester. This paper concerns the treatment schedules employed and their outcome in 90 pregnancies in women with insulin-dependent clinical diabetes between 1962 and 1977. View Article and Find Full Text PDFDeep-vein thrombosis was detected by means of the 125I-fibrinogen test in 37.2% of patients undergoing gynaecological surgical procedures within the first six days postoperatively; 50% of the cases occurred within the first 48 hours. There was no difference in the incidence of thrombosis according to whether the abdominal or vaginal approach had been used.
