Learning from the roundtable on obesity solutions experiences: A 10-year anniversary point of view.

The Roundtable on Obesity Solutions (ROOS), established in 2014, is a unique organization of multisectoral voices addressing the public health challenge of obesity. The ROOS brings together practitioners, researchers, funders, companies, health systems, government agencies, and the lived experience to dialogue and guide the national conversation about the multilevel challenges and opportunities related to obesity. This paper presents insights and key learnings from a symposium developed to celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the ROOS.

The Cross-Sectional Relation of Body Mass Index to Adiposity among 8- to 19-Year-Olds within Several Races and Ethnicities.

Objective: To assess the screening ability of a high body mass index (BMI) for high adiposity among 8- to 19-year-olds.

Study Design: This cross-sectional study included 6454 National Health and Nutrition Survey participants from 2011 through 2018. Fat and lean mass were measured with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry.

Myoepithelial Carcinoma of the External Auditory Canal With Extension Into the Middle Ear and Mastoid.

Myoepithelial carcinoma is a rare disease of the head and neck, with only a handful of cases reported occurring within the external auditory canal, middle ear, and mastoid. The patient discussed is a 67-year-old male with a prior history of a bilateral tympanomastoidectomy for cholesteatoma and a prior history of left parotidectomy and adjuvant radiation for pleomorphic sarcoma. Three years after the parotidectomy, the patient presented with contralateral ear fullness.

Food Insecurity Screening and Referral Practices of Pediatric Clinicians in Metropolitan Washington, DC.

Background/objectives: In 2022, 17.3% of US households with children experienced food insecurity (FI). The objective of this study was to examine pediatric clinicians' FI screening and management immediately following the release of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2015 FI Policy Statement.

Screening Accuracy of BMI for Adiposity Among 8- to 19-Year-Olds.

Background And Objectives: Although the limitations of BMI have long been recognized, there are recent concerns that it is not a good screening tool for adiposity. We therefore examined the cross-sectional relation of BMI to adiposity among 6923 8- to 19-year-olds in the National Health and Nutrition Survey from 2011 through 2018.

Methods: Participants were scanned with dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry.
