Fatal Septic Shock Due to Aeromonas Hydrophila in a Cirrhotic Patient; a Case Report.

Aeromonas hydrophila has been identified as a causative agent of necrotizing fasciitis and myonecrosis, with most reported cases having a connection to aquatic-related trauma. Cases without such trauma history are rare in existing literature. Here, we present the case of a 56-year-old cirrhotic patient who lacked any prior aquatic-related trauma and arrived at the emergency department in a state of septic shock.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome following septicemia in patient with myasthenia gravis.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinicoradiologic entity characterized by seizure, headaches, visual symptoms, impaired consciousness, and vasogenic cerebral edema of occipital and parietal lobes of the brain. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the diagnostic gold standard. The pathophysiology of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is still unknown, but it is thought to be closely related to several medical conditions including hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia, immunosuppressive agents, transplantation, and sepsis.

A novel stop codon mutation in exon 5 (c.639G>A) of the cadherin-1 gene in a Vietnamese man with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer: a case report.

Anatomy and Giant Enhancement of the Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy of Cobalt-Graphene Heterostructures.

We report strongly enhanced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) of Co films by graphene coating from both first-principles and experiments. Our calculations show that graphene can dramatically boost the surface anisotropy of Co films up to twice the value of its pristine counterpart and can extend the out-of-plane effective anisotropy up to unprecedented thickness of 25 Å. These findings are supported by our experiments on graphene coating on Co films grown on Ir substrate.
