We report the unexpected nucleophilic ring-opening reaction of electron deficient dioxins in the presence of carbazole under basic conditions. This nucleophilic ring-opening reaction is reversible under basic conditions in the absence of nucleophiles. Further, we demonstrate that this unexpected reactivity can be used to prepare novel donor-acceptor compounds that are emissive in solution and as thin films and exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF).

Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), used primarily for hypertension, have shown potential neuropsychiatric benefits, including anxiolytic effects. This study explores the anxiolytic effects of two ARBs, telmisartan and losartan, by evaluating locomotor activity in Wistar rats, aiming to identify new treatment options for anxiety through modulation of the renin-angiotensin system.

Human precision-cut lung slices (hPCLS), considered a highly relevant ex vivo model of the lung, offer native architecture and cells of the lung tissue including respiratory parenchyma, small airways, and immune competent cells. Background: Particulate matter (PM) containing environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) are formed during various combustion processes, including the thermal remediation of hazardous wastes.
