In psychological test norming, nonrepresentativeness in background variables in the normative sample can lead to bias in the normed score estimates. Because representativeness is difficult to establish in practice, adjustment methods are needed to combat this bias. As a candidate adjustment method, we investigated generalized additive models for location, scale, and shape with multilevel regression and poststratification (GAMLSS + MRP), the combination of MRP and continuous norming with GAMLSS.

Design: Cross-sectional survey.
Methods: Online questionnaire with three closed-scale questions and two open-text questions designed to elicit perceptions on the accessibility of men to the fields of nursing practice.
Purpose: Ultrahypofractionation presents challenges for a subset of high-risk prostate cancer patients due to the large planning target volume (PTV) margin required for the seminal vesicles. Online adaptive radiation therapy could potentially reduce this margin. This paper focuses on the development, preclinical validation, and clinical testing of online adaptive robotic stereotactic body radiation therapy for this patient group.

Background And Purpose: A novel ring-gantry cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging system shows improved image quality compared to its conventional version, but its effect on autosegmentation is unknown. This study evaluates the impact of this high-performance CBCT on autosegmentation performance, inter-observer variability, contour correction times and delineation confidence, compared to the conventional CBCT.
Materials And Methods: Twenty prostate cancer patients were enrolled in this prospective clinical study.
Background: This study was undertaken to understand the role of the Health Care Assistants and how they negotiate roles and responsibilities with Registered Nurses in adult acute hospitals.
Methods: The qualitative approach of focused ethnography used non-participant observation and interviews with staff from four acute wards. Field notes and interview data, analysed using NVIVO10, moved data from description through explanation, interpretation and identification of themes.
Unlabelled: Administering zoledronic acid (ZA) to older hip fracture patients during the hospital stay has faced safety concerns. However, in this study of 161 patients, no ZA-related side effects or readmissions were observed, demonstrating that ZA administration during hospitalization is safe and effective for secondary fracture prevention.
Purpose: According to the 2022 Dutch 'Osteoporosis and fracture prevention' guideline, zoledronic acid (ZA) is the preferred osteoporosis treatment for hip fracture patients.
Objective: Hypofractionation has become the new clinical standard for prostate cancer. We investigated the management of acute toxicity in patients treated with moderate hypofractionation (MHF) or Ultrahypofractionation (UHF).
Methods: In a prospective cohort setting, patients (N=316) received either MHF (20 fractions of 3/3.
Background And Purpose: A novel Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) named HyperSight provides superior CBCT image quality compared to conventional ring gantry CBCT imaging, and it is suitable for dose calculations for prostate cancer, but it comes with considerable additional costs. The aim of this study was to determine the added value of HyperSight CBCT imaging compared to conventional CBCT imaging in terms of organ visibility in the male pelvic region.
Materials And Methods: Twenty prostate cancer patients were included in this prospective clinical study.
Purpose: In evaluating second primary cancers (SPCs) following External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT), the role of lifestyle factors is frequently not considered due to data limitations. We investigated the association between smoking, comorbidities, and SPC risks within EBRT-treated patients for localized prostate cancer (PCa).
Patients & Methods: The study included 1,883 PCa survivors aged 50-79, treated between 2006 and 2013, with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) or three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT).
Next-generation radio experiments such as the radio detector of the upgraded Pierre Auger Observatory and the planned GRAND and BEACON arrays target the detection of ultra-high-energy particle air showers arriving at low elevation angles. These inclined cosmic-ray air showers develop higher in the atmosphere than vertical ones, enhancing magnetic deflections of electrons and positrons inside the cascade. We evidence two novel features in their radio emission: a new polarization pattern, consistent with a geosynchrotron emission model and a coherence loss of the radio emission, both for showers with zenith angle θ≳65° and strong enough magnetic field amplitude (typical strength of B∼50 μT).

Steerable needles have been developed to make these patients eligible again. This study aims to validate the dosimetric impact and performance of steerable needles within the conventional clinical setting.

A multidisciplinary and structured approach is the most effective way to evaluate patients with spine disease and mitigate the risk of complications. The neurologic, oncologic, mechanical and systemic disease framework gives comprehensive guidance to providers regarding appropriate management.

We present a case of upper airway obstruction caused by vocal cord dysfunction, a less frequently occurring aetiology. The patient's case suggests a notable relationship between procedural laryngeal stimulus and the onset of symptoms.

Evidence shows that people from an ethnic minority background often experience poorer end-of-life care due to care providers not understanding their care needs.
Aim: To explore the experiences of community nursing staff caring for patients with an ethnic minority background at the end of their life.

Aims: Knowledge on survival probabilities is essential for determining optimal treatment strategies. We studied overall survival and associated prognostic factors in Dutch patients with localised prostate cancer (PCa) selected for external beam radiotherapy.
Materials And Methods: For this single-centre retrospective cohort study, we identified all T1-T3 PCa patients (aged 55-80 years) in the radiotherapy planning database with a start date between January 2006 and December 2013, treated with 72-78 Gy in 2 Gy fractions to the prostate ± seminal vesicles (n = 1536).
The origin of high-energy cosmic rays, atomic nuclei that continuously impact Earth's atmosphere, is unknown. Because of deflection by interstellar magnetic fields, cosmic rays produced within the Milky Way arrive at Earth from random directions. However, cosmic rays interact with matter near their sources and during propagation, which produces high-energy neutrinos.

Aim: To describe the initial development of a CA career pathway for nurses, AHPs and other healthcare professionals in a Community and Mental Health NHS Trust.
Methods: Kotter's 8-Step Change Model was used to expand opportunities and research culture across an NHS Trust.
How and why is implicit and explicit human rights language used by World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiators in debates about intellectual property, know-how, and technology needed to manufacture COVID-19 vaccines, and how do these findings compare with negotiators' human rights framing in 2001? Sampling 26 WTO members and two groups of members, this study uses document analysis and six key informant interviews with WTO negotiators, a representative of the WTO Secretariat, and a nonstate actor. In WTO debates about COVID-19 medicines, negotiators scarcely used human rights frames (e.g.

We report a search for nonstandard neutrino interactions (NSI) using eight years of TeV-scale atmospheric muon neutrino data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. By reconstructing incident energies and zenith angles for atmospheric neutrino events, this analysis presents unified confidence intervals for the NSI parameter ε_{μτ}. The best-fit value is consistent with no NSI at a p value of 25.
