Background: Malignant adnexal tumors of the skin are a rare group of tumors that can be locally aggressive and require surgical excision with strict margin control to achieve clearance. Given the rarity of these tumors, there is a limited understanding within the medical community regarding optimal treatment approaches.
Objective: To examine surgical management trends and outcomes for patients diagnosed with cutaneous adnexal tumors from 2000 to 2020.
Background: Limited data exists for bupivacaine injection after Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS).
Objective: Evaluate how bupivacaine affects postoperative pain and narcotic use.
Materials And Methods: In this multicenter, single-blinded, prospective randomized controlled trial, patients received bupivacaine or saline (placebo) immediately after MMS with flap reconstructions identified by American Academy of Dermatology expert consensus as high-risk for pain and narcotic use.

Testicular germ-cell tumours (TGCT) are the most common cancer among young adult men. Previous studies suggested TGCT survivors have an increased risk for skin cancer. The goal of this study was to systematically review the literature and evidence regarding skin cancer risk among TGCT survivors compared with the general population.

We designed a single-center, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-arm, double-blinded trial to determine whether perioperative administration of gabapentin reduced postoperative delirium after noncardiac surgery.
Methods: Patients were randomly assigned to receive placebo (N = 347) or gabapentin 900 mg (N = 350) administered preoperatively and for the first 3 postoperative days.
Pityriasis rosea is a dermatological disease with a well-documented clinical appearance, but less is known about causes and treatment. Bell's palsy is a neurological condition leading to acute idiopathic hemifacial paralysis. Recent studies indicate that human herpesvirus (HHV) 6-7 reactivation may be a contributing factor to both conditions.

The two major Fv1 alleles from laboratory mice, Fv1 (n) and Fv1 (b) , restrict infection by different murine leukaemia viruses (MLVs). Fv1(n) restricts B-tropic MLV, but not N-tropic MLV or NB-tropic MLV.

The Rapid Cognitive Screen (RCS) is a brief screening tool (< 3 min) for cognitive dysfunction. RCS includes 3-items from the Veterans Affairs Saint Louis University Mental Status (SLUMS) exam: recall, clock drawing, and insight.

Due to its highly promigratory and proinvasive properties, standard therapy including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation fails in eradicating this highly aggressive type of cancer. Here, we evaluated the role of TFPI-2, a Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor, which has been previously described as a tumor suppressor gene in several types of cancer, including glioma.

To target these molecules, we used BH3 mimetics and analyzed the molecular mechanisms of cell death induced thereby. Glioma cells displayed only limited sensitivity to single-agent treatment with the BH3 mimetics HA14-1, BH3I-2', and ABT-737, whereas the pan-Bcl-2 inhibitor (-)-gossypol efficiently induced cell death.
