This study aims to set a cost-effective methodology to characterize barrier systems by evaluating the effectiveness with a recent approach based on XRF and EDS and characterize the kinetic of diffusion processes with X-ray diffractometry. Several high fashion barrier systems were tested highlighting that anticorrosion systems are not automatically suited as barrier layers for intermetallic diffusion, as opposed to industrial practice.

The review presents data on damage to the organ of vision in patients recovered from the new coronavirus infection reflecting on the results obtained by various researchers from examining patients with varying severity of the disease, both during the active stage and after recovery. Possible ways of transmission of the infectious agent into the organ of vision were analyzed. The most common ocular manifestation of COVID-19 is conjunctivitis, while lesions of the retina and optic nerve were noted less often.

Aim: A comparative analysis of the clinical efficacy of cholinergic drugs and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (IHE), as well as their combination, in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease and consequences of intracranial injury according to clinical, instrumental and laboratory dynamic observations.
Material And Methods: Ninety patients with cerebrovascular pathology, including 45 with chronic brain ischemia stage 2 (ICD-10 I67) and 45 with sequelae of intracranial injury (ICD-10 T90.5), were enrolled in the study.
Population exposure in the Urals region occurred due to the releases of radionuclides by the Mayak plutonium facility in the 1950's. The major sources of radioactive contamination were the discharges of liquid wastes into the Techa river (1949-1956); an explosion in the storage facility for high level radioactive wastes which formed the East Urals Radioactive Trace in 1957; and gaseous aerosol releases within the first decade of the facility's operation (1949-1957). The problems of dose reconstruction for the population exposed on the Techa river banks and East Urals Radioactive Trace are outlined.

Peptide mapping by limited proteolysis yielded similar patterns for five selected isolates from the USSR. All isolates from Hungary and France exhibited the same reactivity pattern with a panel of 16 protein E-specific monoclonal antibodies, whereas 10 out of 12 isolates from the Soviet Union showed minor differences at certain epitopes.
