The authors digitized therapeutic factors used in the treatment of various forms of cognitive disorders, including dementia, with the subsequent development of a medical information system «Diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders». The medical information system «Diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders» was created on the basis of the 1C platform, supplemented by the module «Treatment of cognitive disorders», focused on supporting medical decision-making when choosing therapeutic factors for patients with cognitive disorders. It is planned to use this module in the complex activities of memory impairment classrooms.

[Characteristics of the value-based attitude of medical workers to healthy lifestyle].

Reduction in the medical labor reserve leads to economic losses, therefore, the issue related to medical personnel health improvement is relevant at all management levels in healthcare. The article presents results of the survey of doctors in Moscow, reflecting their own attitude to a healthy lifestyle and related self-preserving behavior patterns. The searches focused on the analysis of activities of medical workers related to health improvement and promotion and analysis of psychosocial attitudes of medical workers.

Enhancement of Polyacrylate Antiscalant Activity during Gypsum Deposit Formation with the Pretreatment of Aqueous Solutions with Spruce Wood Shavings.

Considerable efforts are made worldwide to reduce inorganic scale in reverse osmosis plants, boilers and heat exchangers, evaporators, industrial water systems, geothermal power plants and oilfield applications. These include the development of new environmentally friendly antiscalants and the improvement of conventional ones. The present report is dedicated to the unconventional application of spruce wood shavings in combination with polyacrylate (PAA-F1) in a model case of gypsum scale formation.

Antiradical Potential of Food Products as a Comprehensive Measure of Their Quality.

Antiradical potential (ARP) is an important measure of food safety. In addition, it directly or indirectly affects the rate of occurrence of a number of human pathologies. Using a photocolorimetric analysis of DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) solutions, we estimated the antiradical potential of food raw materials, food concentrates, biologically active substances, and wild plants.

Bioluminescent Enzymatic Assay as a Tool for Studying Antioxidant Activity and Toxicity of Bioactive Compounds.

A bioluminescent assay based on a system of coupled enzymatic reactions catalyzed by bacterial luciferase and NADH:FMN-oxidoreductase was developed to monitor toxicity and antioxidant activity of bioactive compounds. The assay enables studying toxic effects at the level of biomolecules and physicochemical processes, as well as determining the toxicity of general and oxidative types. Toxic and detoxifying effects of bioactive compounds were studied.

Formation of metabolic syndrome as a risk factor of circulatory diseases in drivers.

The authors considered systemic approaches to disclosing factors that promote metabolic syndrome formation and associated risk of ciculatory system diseases in drivers. Examination covered drivers with metabolic syndrome and without it. Findings are that metabolic disorders developing in drivers are occupationally conditioned.

[Neuromyelitis optica and aquaporin-associated syndromes].

Identification of aquaporin-4 antibodies in neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is highly important to provide early diagnosis for starting pathogenetic treatment, and for differential diagnosis in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMO-SD). In this paper, we review current pathogenetic and clinical aspects of NMO and NMO NMO-SD. We present our data on the identification of aquaporin-4 antibodies in CNS disorders.

[The role of biofilms in pathogenesis of chronic bacterial rhinosinusitis].

The objective of the present work was to study the contribution of biofilms to the development of chronic bacterial rhinosinusitis. A total of 50 patients with this pathology were available for the examination. Mucosal swabs were taken from the middle nasal passages of all the patients to be used for the detection of biofilms by luminescence microscopy.

[Effect of oregano essential oil on the engraftment and development of Lewis carcinoma in F1 DBA C57 black hybrid mice].

The effect of a low uptake dose of oregano essential oil with drinking water for three months (Origanum vulgare L.) on the degree of Lewis carcinoma engraftment and some parameters of oxidative stress has been studied in vivo using F1 DBA C57 Black hybrid mice. Oregano essential oil has been established to possess an anticancer activity.

[Biomarkers in multiple sclerosis (a review and experimental data)].

Identification of biomarkers in multiple sclerosis is a very complex problem, and intensive work is being made in this field for the last decades. The importance of establishing biomarkers of multiple sclerosis is related to the high disease heterogeneity and lack of characteristic symptoms that leads to diagnostic, prognostic challenges and difficulties in making decisions about therapy. In this paper, we review the most important biomarkers and discuss their diagnostic and prognostic value.

[Influence of the composition of essential oils on their antioxidant and antiradical properties].

The antiradical and antioxidant properties of essential oil mixtures (EOMs) with various compositions were studied and compared in model systems of hexanal autooxidation, thermal oxidation of methyl linoleate and beta3-carotene, and in a reaction with the stable diphenylpicrylhydrazyl radical. It was found that all EOMs under investigation exhibited antiradical activity. The highest antiradical activity was observed for an EOM containing monoterpene hydrocarbons as the main components (the phenol content was low).

[Changes in fatty acid composition in the brain and liver in aging mice of high cancer risk AKR strain and effect of savory essential oil administration on leukemic process].

Age-related alterations of fatty acid composition in liver and brain of AKR mice was investigated. The effect of savory essential oil (Satureja hortensis L.), added with drinking water on fatty acid composition in these organs and the processes of lipid peroxidation in erythrocytes were estimated.

[Oregano essential oil as an inhibitor of higher fatty acid oxidation].

Inhibition of the oxidation of fatty acids methyl esters by oregano essential oil was studied using capillary gas chromatography. A mixture of fatty acids which contained saturated, mono-, di-, and polyunsaturated acids with 16-24 carbon atoms was extracted from mice brain. Changes in the composition of esters in hexane solutions both in the presence of oregano essential oil and without it were examined during their autooxidation in light for 1 year.

[Laboratory diagnosis of myocardial microlesions during coronary balloon angioplasty with stenting].

Fifty patients with stable angina who had undergone elective coronary angioplasty with stenting were examined. Myocardial microlesions diagnosed from the elevated levels of troponin (Tn) I and creatine phosphate kinase MB (CPK-MB) were detected in 48-54% of the patients; however, the content of Tn I exceeded the high reference level only in 18%. Tn I is a more specific method than CPK-MB in detecting myocardial microlesions during intracoronary intervention.

[The effect of volatile antioxidants of plant origin on leukemogenesis in mice].

The effect of savory essential oil added with drinking water (150 ng/ml) or with feed (2.5 microg/g) on the lifetime of AKR mice and the parameters of oxidative stress in animal blood were investigated. It was found for the first time that long-term administration of an essential oil in low doses increased the average lifetime of mice by 20-35% and was accompanied by a decrease in the hemolysis level and the content of lipid peroxidation products in erythrocytes of mice, as well as alteration in the structural state of their membranes and stabilization of polyunsaturated fatty acids level in mice liver cells.

[Perfluoran influence upon lipids peroxide oxidation and oral fluid antioxidant system activity in patients with chronic generalized parodontitis].

The efficacy of perfluoran submucous administration in the postoperative period in patients with chronic parodontal diseases was studied over the dynamics of indicators of oral fluid antioxidant system and lipids peroxide oxidation. It was established that perfluoran submucous administration during postoperative period increased the efficacy of postoperative wound healing and decreased the risk of disease relapse development.

[Peculiarities of the organism immune response in patients suffering ischemic cardiomyopathy].

Ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICMP) constitutes the organspecific systemic form of autoimmune pathology. Now existing hypotheses of the ICMP pathogenesis trust the multistaged course of the disease with concurrent changes in the cellular and humoral chains of immunity. Among the immune disorders there are interrelated chains, influencing the disease course severity.

[Myxoma of the cor triatriatum].

We present a rare case of myxoma in a patient with cor triatriatum. This pathology was symptomless and was revealed at transthoracic echocardiographic examination in a patient with ischemic heart disease. The patient was successfully subjected to surgery which consisted in removal of the tumor together with accessory membrane to which myxoma was attached and reconstruction of the atrial wall.

[Anaerobic gas-producing clostridial endogenic infection in patient with salmonellosis].

Anaerobic gas-producing clostridial infection is one of most severe complications of mainly gunshot wound of war period, in peace time occurs very seldom. The rare clinical case of anaerobic gas-producing clostridial endogenic infection with fulminant course in patient with salmonellosis produced by group B salmonella typhimurium. The disease was finished with fatal outcome in 8.

[Significance of immunological investigations in the studying of various forms of cardiomyopathy].

The data concerning the role of the immune and inflammatory reactions activation in formation of dilatational and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were presented. The dependence of the humoral-inflammatory disbalance progressing on the processes of the apoptosis and inflammatory cytokins level regulation, determining the immune answer disorder degree in relation with cardiomyopathy form, was established.

[Changes in immune status in patients with infectious endocarditis in surgical treatment involving artificial blood circulation].

In 98.2% patients with infectious endocarditis, admitted to the hospital for surgical treatment, the moderate immune deficiency state is revealed with the cell link of immunity depression and phagocytic function of neutrophils insufficiency, which become aggravated after operative intervention performance, especially using artificial blood circulation. The cell link of immunity depression, the B-lymphocytes function inhibition are preserved during 6 months after the operation.

[The transfer of antibacterial resistance to recipients highly sensitive to glanders].

In multiple experiments on golden hamsters, highly sensitive to glanders, the method of the transfer of antibacterial resistance was worked out. The most positive effect was obtained after the subcutaneous injection of saline-suspended marrow cells, obtained from white rats, infected with Burkholderia mallei C5 in a single inoculation and passaged through noninfected white rats 5 times. Out of 60 golden hamsters, treated with such material and subsequently (on day 21) injected with 1.

[Sensory information--an important factor in ontogeny].

Ontogenetic process reveals a row of consecutive stages characterized by the gradual increase in complexity and by the changing specificity of sensory mechanisms basic for the adaptive behavior of the young. The study examines the mechanisms of interaction among different sensory systems during the formation of early behavioral patterns and analyzes why, at a certain stage of development, a particular sensory stimulus loses its efficacy in the organization of a given behavior and is substituted by another one, previously ineffective. A special attention is paid to formation of behavior based on sensory information within the limits of ontogenetically fixed developmental critical periods and to the role of the early sensory experience in learning in adult animals.
